Our Verdict:
If you expect the microKORG Portable Synth/Vocoder to play and program like a regular full sized keyboard, you'll just end up frustrated. This model was primarily designed for sound quality and portability at a very affordable price. As a sound module and vocoder, it is amazingly inexpensive, versatile and great sounding. But if you're looking to use it as a stand-alone, you're better off with the higher models. For its class however, no other keyboard instrument delivers the microKORG's performance in a 4.85 lb. body. It's ideal to carry around for gigs and generate analog effects, vocoded pads and synchronized arpeggios. Any DJ or musician with limited space will love this compact synthesizer. |

Customer Feedback-
"This is no 88 key workstation, that's for sure. In some cases that's a good thing, especially if you like in a small apartment and you're concerned about space, but for such a small synth, I am completely blown away at what this can do. You really need to try and buy this synth, you won't be disappointed!" - Actual User Review - Amazon.com "If you are considering buying this, my advice to you is just to do it. It has a great sound to it and would be a great addition to your band. It is lightweight but it does not feel cheaply made at all. The keyboard does not have full size keys but it isn't really that bad to play. Programming it can be a bit of a pain at first but once you get used to it becomes much easier. Korg has a really great product here." - Actual User Review - Amazon.com "One Word! - I N C R E D I B L E - I've just sold My Roland JP8000 and purchased this as a replacement! - (What! I hear you say... Are you mad?) Well..... maybe...... But after hearing this thing in my local Music store I was totally blown away. - It's the Best Modern Sounding analogue I've ever come across. This is without a shadow of doubt a 'FUTURE CLASSIC' and the minute KORG stop making this wonder machine they will become 'GOLD DUST' - Food For Thought!" - Actual User Review -Zzounds.com "If I lost this keyboard or somebody stole it I would cry! I would DEFINITELY purchase a new one. This keyboard makes the most amazing synth sounds and is SO FREAKING PORTABLE. You couldn't find a better keyboard that is easier to carry around, it weighs practically nothing and takes up no room, but it sounds fantastic." - Actual User Review - Zzounds.com |
